Pinctada fucata, 8-10 cm. Cold Japanese waters slow nacre growth, producing finer crystallisation and exceptional lustre.

Colour: white to cream, pink or silver overtones. Shape: the roundest of all. Lustre: the highest. Size: 2-11 mm, most common 6-9 mm.
