Produced by Pinctada fucata, mainly in Japan and China. Size 2-11 mm, very round, white or cream with pink or silver overtones, exceptional lustre. Ideal for timeless classics.

Tahitian pearl: the Polynesian exception

Produced by Pinctada margaritifera, exclusively in French Polynesia. Size 8-18 mm, varied shapes, unique natural dark colours from grey to green to purple. Ideal for modern, bold jewellery.

South Sea pearl: the queen of pearls

Produced by Pinctada maxima, mainly in Australia, Philippines and Indonesia. Size 9-20 mm, very thick nacre, satiny lustre, white to deep gold. Ideal for exceptional pieces.
